On The Cutting Edge
(March 24, 2005)

All through history there have been individuals who have been on the cutting edge of what God was doing in that particular part of time. More recently there have been men like Billy Graham who slowly, methodically carved out a hugely successful ministry in the area of mass evangelism. In the area of high-lighting God's willingness to heal physical bodies we saw men like Oral Roberts come on the scene in the 50's with his large tent crusades where he would personally lay his hand on each individual who was ill, in faith that God would do the miraculous, and very often He did! Then there were those who were not satisfied with God only healing some of the people, so they began digging into God's Word for answers to find out what it takes to see the Hand of God move more often. One of these men was the late Kenneth E. Hagin. His particular gifting to the Body of Christ was in the area of teaching God's Word in regard to developing and walking in faith. He taught us that faith was the currency of heaven, that it is faith that moves God's Hand. And many others have followed until today there are ministries all over the world that teach, in depth, the faith concepts that are high-lighted on this website. Thank God there is no need to be stuck in a spiritually-dry church. Find yourself a church that is busy teaching and reaching people with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. Go to our Church Search webpage to see what to look for in a good church.

But God was busy being sought after way before the 20th century. And His truths were being revealed to even obscure people, one of which I would like to introduce you to. His name is Brother Lawrence. This man lived in the 1600's, and even though his doctrine was a little misguided in the area of physical healing, this man is without doubt one who must classified among those who were on the cutting edge of ministry in their time. His particular gifting to the Body of Christ was his ability to stay in the presence of God even in the day to day and sometimes mundane things of life. Read his letters and you will learn the art of walking with God in simplicity and peace. You can read his writings and even print out his conversations with those he ministered to by going to the website www.practicegodspresence.com.
