Belief No. 8 Verses

Belief No.8 - Based on the following scriptures, I believe my spoken words will either work for me or against me.

Prov. 4:24 - Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

Prov. 6:2 - if you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth,

Prov.10:11 - The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.

Prov. 10:14 - Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.

Prov. 10:19 - When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.

Prov. 10:20 - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value.

Prov. 10:21 - The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment.

Prov. 10:31 - The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out.

Prov. 11:12 - A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue.

Prov. 12:6 - The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.

Prov. 12:13 - An evil man is trapped by his sinful talk, but a righteous man escapes trouble.

Prov. 12:14 - From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him.

Prov. 12:18 - Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Prov. 12:19 - Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.

Prov. 13:2 - From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful have a craving for violence.

Prov. 13:3 - He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.

Prov. 14:3 - A fool's talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.

Prov.15:1 - A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Prov.15:4 - The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

Prov.16:21 - The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words promote instruction.

Prov.16:23 - A wise man's heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction.

Prov.16:24 - Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Prov. 16:27 - A scoundrel plots evil, and his speech is like a scorching fire.

Prov.16:28 - A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.

Prov. 17:20 - A man of perverse heart does not prosper; he whose tongue is deceitful falls into trouble.

Prov. 17:27 - A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even-tempered.

Prov. 17:28 - Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.

Prov. 18:6 - A fool's lips bring him strife, and his mouth invites a beating.

Prov. 18:7 - A fool's mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul.

Prov. 18:20 - From the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied.

Prov. 18:21 - The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Prov. 19:28 - A corrupt witness mocks at justice, and the mouth of the wicked gulps down evil.

Prov. 21:23 - He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.

Prov. 23:16 - My son, if your heart is wise, my heart will be glad, even mine: Yes, my heart will
rejoice when your lips speak right things.

Matt. 5:22 - But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Matt. 12:36 - But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.

Matt. 12:37 - For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

James 3:5 - Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.

James 3:6 - The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

1 Pet. 3:10 - For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.

Ps. 37:30 - The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just.

Ps. 52:2 - Your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor, you who practice deceit.

Ps. 64:3 - They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their words like deadly arrows.

Ps.140:3 - They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent's; the poison of vipers is on their lips.

Ps.141:3 - Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.
